Gladys Alice (Werner) Crissey
March 18, 1925 — November 9, 2015
Gladys Werner Crissey, 90, of Morehead City, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Gladys was born March 18, 1925 in Peterborough, NH to Hattie Mc Bryde Werner and Frederick J. Werner. The family moved to Durham, NC when she was an infant. She attended Durham City Schools. Gladys worked and retired from Southern Bell Telephone (AT&T) and moved to Harkers Island after a short stay she decided to go and work with GTE in Durham, later retired from GTE and went back to Harkers Island. In 2004 she moved to Morehead City. She was affectionately known as Grammy G-Gladys and Auntie Gladys.
She is survived by her daughter, Gay Webster and husband Robert of Oriental; one son, Hal Hardaway and wife Mary of Middleburg, FL; seven step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Hattie Werner; one sister, Lorene Kasterson; and one grandson, Jeff Hogan.
