Giula Irene Rogers

Giula Irene Garner Rogers, 109, of Newport passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at her home.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. James United Methodist Church with Tom Supplee officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Giula's father-in-law was a United Methodist Minister, and she was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Newport.
She is survived by her brother, Claude J. Garner of Jacksonville; one sister, Rachel Bennett of Newport; five nieces and nephews, Joe Garner and wife Lena of Morehead City, Glen Garner and wife Vicky of Newport, Susan Jones and husband David of Smyrna, Arthur Garner and wife Janet of Virginia Beach, and Claudia Law and husband John of Wilmington; also ten great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James M. Rogers; and her parents, Claude and Sadie Garner; two brothers, Glenwood Garner and R.D. Hatch Garner; one sister, Madie G. Hatfield.
Flowers are welcome or memorials made to charity of one's choice.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
