Gilbert Priddy

Gilbert Priddy, 73, of Atlantic, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at his home.

The family will have a celebration of his life at a later date.

Gilbert was born on February 23, 1948, in Stokes, North Carolina, to the late Luther and Pauline Priddy. After graduating from high school, Gilbert honorably served in the United States Army. He loved the Lord and was happy to serve and attend Willow Oak Baptist Church in Walnut Cove, NC. His musical ability was exceptional, he loved to play and was an enthusiastic member of the Hill Billy Band at the Hill Billy Hideaway. It’s easy to define his life’s passion as the church and music.

Gilbert will be fondly remembered as a loving husband of 37 years, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Priddy of the home; daughter, Ashley Priddy and fiancé Tony Chaney of Atlantic; sister, Helen Freeman and husband David of North Carolina; brothers, Roger Priddy and wife Sherrie of Walnut Cove, NC and Frankie Priddy and wife Patricia of Germantown, NC; and grandchildren, Addison Chaney and Aiden Chaney.
