Gieula (Fulcher) West

November 18, 1922 — January 2, 2015

Gieula Fulcher West, 92, of Atlantic, died Friday, January 2, 2015 at her home with family.

A funeral service will be 3:00 pm Sunday at Atlantic United Methodist Church with Rev. George Gouge officiating. Interment will follow at Over the Brook Cemetery.

Gieula graduated James Walker Memorial School of Nursing, Wilmington, NC in 1944 and over the years to follow she served many communities as a public health nurse. She retired from Carteret County Health Department in 1978. She was a life time member of Atlantic United Methodist Church, a Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Women's Circle.

She is survived by a daughter Jane West Pittman and husband Emmett of Atlantic; two sons Jack Page West, Jr. and wife Gloria of Atlantic, and W. Charles West of Atlantic; four grandchildren Page West Boudreau, Marie West Willis, Robert M. Pittman, and Pamela E. Garner; and five great grandchildren Victoria, Garrett, Chandler, Charlie, Alex, and Wyatt.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clem and Emma Fulcher, sibilings Mitchell Fulcher, Pearl Hamilton, Henry Fulcher, Glennie Willis, and Mable Morris, a grandson Jack Page West III, and great great granddaughter Hilary Brooks.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the "Senior Luncheon Fund" or Atlantic United Methodist Church both at 511 School Dr. Atlantic, NC 28511.
