Geraldine Pate, 84, of Morehead City, formerly of Raleigh, passed away Monday evening, July 12th, 2010, in Carteret General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 15th, 2010, at two o'clock in Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City with Rev. Charles Royal officiating. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
She was born July 22nd, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was raised lovingly in Kansa City, Missouri. She moved to North Carolina upon her marriage to Ernest C. Pate, Jr. on February 7th, 1948. While raising three sons, she helped Ernie throughout his foreign service career with assignments in the Philippines, Thailand, Liberia, and Washington, DC.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons: Kenneth Pate of Marion, Alan and wife Wanda Pate of Beaufort, Steve and wife Lisa Pate of Willow Springs. She has five grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary (deceased), Haley, Nicholas, and Christina; two great-grandchildren: Bridget and Zachary; two brothers, Jim O'Leary and Phil O'Leary.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
