Gerald S. "Jerry" Mitchell, Jr.

Gerald S. “Jerry” Mitchell, Jr., 74, of Raleigh, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center in Wilson.

His memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home with Pastor Karl Zorowski of St. Peter’s UMC officiating.

Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, beach music, running and fitness.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Mitchell Getman and husband, Drew, of Raleigh; son, Jason Mitchell and wife, Terri, of Winston Salem; mother, Dorothy Long Mitchell of Morehead City; sister, Linda Mitchell Sledge of Raleigh; and three grandchildren, JJ, Chandler, and Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald S. Mitchell, Sr and brother, Michael Alan Mitchell.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home.
