Georgie "Monk" Elizabeth (Daniels) Parsons

Georgie "Monk" Parsons, 86, of Newport, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at her home surrounded by family.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 Friday at Gethsemane Memorial Park with Rev. James Clark officiating.
She is survived by five children Mary Ann Lewis and husband Elwood of Morehead City, Bonnie Barefoot of Newport, Evelyn Hall and husband Bernie of Morehead City, Randy Matthews and wife Julie of Newport, and Barbara Parsons of Newport; special friend Don Carter; grandchildren Cheryl Boyd, Buddy Gould, Michael Lewis, Connie Tell, Danny Lingelbach, Heather Hall, Bernard Hall, Randy Matthews, and Troy Matthews; great grandchildren Bryan Bostwick, Ashley Lingelbach, Taylor Allison, Shelby Boyd, Emily Lingelbach, Georgia Lingelbach, Regan Tell, Sarah Tell, and Emmarie Hall; and great great grandchildren Lathan Allison, Bryleigh Allison, and Carson Bostwick.
She was preceded in death by her husband George F. Parsons, parents Charlie and Mary Daniels, sisters Lousie, and Carrie, and brother Charles Jr., and sons Daniel Joseph Matthews, and George Parsons III.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home.
