Georgia Mitsy Overman

Georgia “Mitsy” Overman, 69, of Morehead City, NC passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Carteret Healthcare in Morehead City.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Gethsemane Memorial Park in Newport with Rev. Wayne Best officiating.
Mitsy worked for 40 years in local government, finishing her career in 2015, as the Assistant Town Manager for Emerald Isle.
She is survived by her sons, Bryan Overman and wife Chrissy of Huntersville, and Brady Overman of Newport; brother, George “Rodney” Nelson and wife Millie of Morehead City; sister, Patsy Best and husband Wayne of Morehead City, and three grandchildren.
Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, George Nelson and Nannie Willis Nelson; husband, Howard Neal Overman; grandchild, Christian Bryan Overman.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the Overman family asks that donations be made in Georgia’s memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Patient Care Fund (346954) at the UNC Medical Foundation of NC, Inc., 880 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Chapel Hill, NC 27514. Checks should be made payable to the Medical Foundation of NC.
