Georgia Mae (Garner) Long

Georgia Mae Long, 93, of Beaufort, passed away Monday, October 8­, 2018, at the Big Elm Rehabilitation and Living Center in Kannapolis, NC.

Her funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Live Oak Grove Christian Church in Beaufort, officiated by Rev. Bill Pollock. Interment will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.

Georgia loved the Lord and was an active member at Live Oak Grove Christian Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Guthrie and husband, William, of Beaufort; sons, Ronald Long, Wayne Long, Michael Long and wife Lolly, Keith Long and wife Clara Tina, all of Beaufort; sister, Hulda Penny and husband, Ernest, of Beaufort; brothers, Larry Garner and wife, Betty, of Morehead City and Terry Garner and wife, Velda, of Broad Creek; sister-in-law, Norma Garner of Wilmington; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace W. Long; parents, William and Elizabeth Garner; sisters, Evelyn Guthrie and husband, Gray, Ionna Guthrie and husband Ira, Nannie Rhue and husband Lemwood, Ethel Gentry and husband Bob, Doris Turner and husband Bryan; and brother, Rodney Garner.

Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Live Oak Grove Christian Church in Beaufort.
