George Peter Stafford, 82, of Morehead City, died Sunday, January 2, 2010 at his home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at St. Egbert Catholic Church with Father Doug Smiley officiating.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Gillikin Stafford of the home; daughter, Cynthia McKee and husband, Bo of Gloucester; three sons, Jimmy Stafford and wife, Sheree of Morehead City, Phillip Stafford and wife, Gail of McKinney, TX, and Steven Stafford and wife, Nancy of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Stafford, Jason Asby, Joshua Stafford, Nathan Stafford, Jessica Asby, Lauren Stafford, Kaitlin Stafford, and Hannah Stafford; two step-grandchildren, Melissa McKee and Kate Ferreira; two great-grandchildren, Ivey Stafford and June Stafford; five step-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Stafford of Perth Amboy, NJ, and Norman Stafford of Plainfield, NJ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Caroline Gill Stafford, and brother, David Stafford.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101, or to a charity of one’s choice.
