George M. Petty

George M. Petty, 72, of Morehead City, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019, at his home.

His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Karl A. Zorowski. The family will hold a private graveside service.

George proudly served our country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp where he earned several medals for his bravery and conduct. After the military, he remained at Cherry Point and worked in the Simulators field of Civil Service. He was a faithful man who loved the Lord and enjoyed his church family at St. Peters United Methodist Church in Morehead City. He loved the outdoors, whether he was boating, hiking, running, bicycling or travelling he was always on the go.

He is survived by wife, Becky Petty of the home; and sister, Donna Kwiatek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Adria Petty.
