George R. Nowell, Jr., 67, of Beaufort, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Carteret General Hospital.
His Memorial Service will be held at Munden Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm officiated by with Rev. James Chadwick with visitation at 12:00.
George was born April 28, 1945 in Raleigh, NC to George R. Nowell and Eloise Blackley. He grew up on the family farm in Wendell, NC where he was a member of Wendell Baptist Church. He graduated from Wendell High School in 1964 and was in the Class of 1967 at UNC-Chapel Hill.
He was retired from a career with Fisher Scientific as an outside Sales Rep for Eastern North Carolina and Real Estate.
He is survived by his faithful companion of 13 years, Sophia Turnage, and loved ones, Michelle Espinosa, and husband Jovani, Tiffany Hunter, and his princess Isabella Hunter-Espinosa of Beaufort, NC, stepdaughter, Deana Sellers, her husband, Keith and their three children of Charlotte, NC and many cousins of Rocky Mount, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Recovery Homes, PO Box 627, Morehead City, NC 28557 or to a charity of one's choice.
