George Thomas Lewis, Jr.

George T. Lewis, Jr., 78, of Beaufort, died Monday, October 6, 2014 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at First Free Will Baptist Church in Beaufort with Rev. Richard Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Oceanview Cemetery.

George retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, and a mentor for Boy Scouts.

He is survived by a daughter Jennie Bean of Beaufort; sons William "Gary" Lewis of Glenn St. Mary, FL, Larry Paul Lewis of Marshall Island, and Michael Thomas Lewis of Beaufort; six granchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marie R. Lewis, parents George T. Lewis, Sr. and Jennie Lewis.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at First Free Will Baptist Church.
