George Ray "Bookie, Jr." Jones, 74, of Morehead City, died Monday morning, May 10, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Jones was an active member of Grace Baptist Church in Newport, NC. He was a veteran and served as a Petty Officer 3rd Class in the US Coast Guard. He worked with Duke Power Company of Rock Hill, SC and retired after 30 years of service.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Clyde Ebron officiating.
He is survived by daughters, Cynthia Jones of Seneca, SC and Teresa Reynolds of York, SC; sister, Faye Clayburn of Morehead City; brother, Gerald Jones of Mill Creek; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Almond Roy "Bookie" Jones and Elizabeth H. Jones and a son, Glenn Roy "Tony" Jones.
