Geneva Rhue Jenkins

Geneva Marlene Rhue Jenkins, 83, of Newport passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at her home, surrounded by family.

Geneva was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Newport.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. James United Methodist Church with the Reverend Tom Supplee, Reverend Jerry Linebarger and Ron Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Newport.

Geneva is survived by her husband, Paul Jenkins of the home; daughters, Patricia Jenkins Potter of Newport, Wanda Jenkins Spann and husband Carl of Morehead City; sister, Shirley Rhue Miller of Burlington; grandchildren, Jeffrey Martin Smith, Emily Potter Garner, Thomas H. Potter III, Carl Spann II, Abby Spann; great grandchild, Meredith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Vernal Martin Rhue and Bertha Mae Garner Rhue; brothers, Dalton Rhue, Vincent Rhue, and Myron Rhue.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
