Garlen Edward Ballew, 84, Havelock, passed away on Sunday, March 6,2022, at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
His graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 11th, at Gethsemane Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. James Chadwick. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, March 10th, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock.
Garlen was born on May 26, 1937, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, to the late Roy and Dora Ballew. He served as an Aircraft Mechanic in the Air Force, stationed at Cherry Point. Garlen was a faithful member of Reece’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He has only changed his address, he has now gone home to be with the Lord.
Those left to treasure his memory are his loving wife, Sandra of the home; daughter, Tracy Ann Stetson of Havelock; sisters, Catherine Bragg of New Bern and Ruby Janette Witeek of Hawaii; four grandchildren; and his furry dog, “Sally B”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Kenneth Wayne Ballew and Guy Stetson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
