Gail Johnson, 73, of Emerald Isle, left us Sunday, December 18, 2016.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Swansboro United Methodist Church. A celebration of her life will follow at Jackie’s Restaurant in Emerald Isle through the afternoon and evening. If you knew Gail, you are welcome at either or both venues.
Born May 1, 1943 she spent her early life in Floral Park, NY, eventually moving to Rhinebeck, NY with her late husband Edwin Johnson. Ed built a career with IBM which eventually led the family to Raleigh, NC in the mid 1980’s. Gail was deeply devoted to Ed and her two sons. After Ed’s retirement, they moved full-time to Emerald Isle, NC. Gail was well known in the community given her talent and love for landscaping. Working outside fulfilled her. After Ed’s death, Gail did her very best to rebuild a life in her community of Lands End. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her sons, Christian of Keene, NH and Tim of San Francisco, CA.
