Gabriele Bothe Schmidt

Gabriele Schmidt, 75, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Croatan Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

Gabriele was born on December 6, 1948, in Zuzenhausen, Germany, to the late Hans and Friedegard Bothe. She was a loving wife to her husband, Michael, for 42 wonderful years. Known for her outspoken nature, Gabriele was never afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believed in. A woman of many talents, Gabriele, excelled in everything she set her mind to. She had a passion for painting, working with stained glass, and embroidery, creating beautiful pieces that showcased her artistic flair.

Gabriele was an excellent cook, her skills in the kitchen brought joy to friends and family alike. Fond memories of time spent together around the table will not be forgotten. May Gabriele be remembered for her determination, creativity, and love for her beloved family.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Michael Schmidt of the home; sons, Stefan Bothe Schmidt (Elissa) of Chicago, Illinois, Ryan Schmidt (Casey) of Benson, North Carolina; brother, Hans Bothe (Denise) of Toronto, Canada; and grandchildren, Christian Schmidt, Lane Schmidt, and Everett Schmidt.
