Fred Locklear, 36, of Newport, died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Wakefield officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of four years, Serah L. Locklear of the home; two daughters, Alexia Michelle Locklear and Aryhanna Marie Locklear of the home; a son, Justin Dwayne Locklear of KY; mother, Reda Locklear of Red Springs; step-father, Robert Locklear of Red Springs; a sister, Tonya Rechelle Locklear of Red Springs; three brothers, Ricardo Locklear of Red Springs, Martin Henery Woods of Red Springs, Weylin Woods of Red Springs; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Rita Lindsey of Newport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Jacobs and two special aunts, Louise Brooks and Lillie Clark.
The family will receive friends 12:30 - 2:00 pm before the service at the church.
