Fred Allen Jones "Blue"

Fred Allen Jones “Blue”, 70, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away at Carteret Health Care on October 9th, 2024, and he is now with God.

A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 2nd at Shevans Park, 1501 Evans Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.

Fred was born on June 12, 1954, to the late Clyde and Elizabeth Jones. Born and raised in Morehead City, NC, Fred attended W. S. King High School. In his late teenage years, Fred moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he worked as a commercial fisherman on the family boat “Sea Wolf”. 

As time went by Fred came back home to Eastern North Carolina and worked in the hospitality field at the Sheraton Hotel in Atlantic Beach and at the Econo Lodge in Morehead City. 

Fred always started his morning early by getting coffee at the Shell Station or Speedway. His best attribute was yard maintenance in the community.

Everyone loved Fred’s personality, kindness and good conversation. He was always a warm welcome everywhere he went.

Fred Allen Jones, we love you and you will be missed on Earth, but God loves you best.

Fred is survived by his brother, Clyde Jerrod Jones of New Bern, NC; daughters, Tonyielle Brown Griffin and Frederitha Brown, both of New Orleans, LA; 8 grandchildren, all of New Orleans, LA; and a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his son, Fred Allen Brown.
