Frank “Woody” Woodson Pake, Jr., 66, of Smyrna, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at Carteret Health Care.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Victoria Cemetery in Marshallberg, officiated by Dr. Randy Moore.

Woody was born and raised in Carteret County. He retired from the Marine Core Air Station at Cherry Point after 35 years in civil service as a supervisory in systems engineering. He was an avid sportsman that enjoyed hunting, being on the water at Cape Lookout, skeet shooting and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was also a talented carpenter and handyman. He was most known for his wit and talent for teasing those that he loved, especially his grandchildren. Woody was a simple man that treasured his home and family.

He is survived by his wife Dianne Jones Pake of the home; daughters, Andrea Bunnell of Havelock, Terri Allen and husband, Darren of Murrieta, CA, Stephanie Pake of Gloucester; step-son, Randy Jones and fiancé Katie Batchelor of Salty Shores; sister, Nancy Garner and husband, Buddy of Marshallberg; grandchildren, Ruby Callicoat, Lily Bunnell, Oliver Duckworth, Darren Allen, III; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Cedric and Hank.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Pake Sr. and Ethel Fulcher Pake.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the State Employees Credit in Union in care of
“Education Fund for Frank Pake’s Grandchildren” at 1900 Live Oak St., Beaufort, NC 28516.

Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Marshallberg Baptist Church.
