Frank Pino

December 1, 1939 — July 8, 2018

Beaufort

Frank Pino, 78, of Beaufort, passed away peacefully at home, with Linda and Jeannie by his side on the evening of Sunday, July 8th, 2018.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018 at North River United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Jones officiating. Interment will follow at North River United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Frank is survived by his wife Linda of 56 years; daughter, Jeannie Pino Barrow; granddaughter, Addison Barrow; brothers, Tony (Lena) Pino, Ben (Bonnie) Pino, John Pino; sister, Teresa (Tony) Milito; special sister-in-law, Alex Harris; many loving nieces, nephews, and foster children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Esterina Pino. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

At the young age of thirteen, Frank and his family immigrated from Southern Italy to Sault Saint Marie, Ontario in search of a better life. He met Linda and they wed in July of 1962.

Frank began working for Weyerhaeuser where he quickly moved up the ranks. In 1964, he was transferred to North Troy, Vermont.  Frank and Linda immediately knew they wanted the United States to become their permanent home. In March of 1973, after completing all of their citizenship requirements together, they became naturalized U.S. Citizens.

Frank and Linda lived the American Dream. They moved to Long Beach, California in 1970 where Frank worked in a management position for a large furniture manufacturer.

In December of 1979, Frank's princess Jeannie was born. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Louisburg, NC where Frank took a plant management position. Frank found his paradise on a farm in Louisburg where he enjoyed raising cattle and fishing when he wasn't working.

Frank and Linda became therapeutic foster parents in 1995. Over a period of twenty years, they took in dozens of foster children. Frank and Linda’s shared love for children and family was a driving force in their daily lives.

Frank and Linda eventually settled in Beaufort when Frank took a position with Atlantic Veneer. Frank loved the ocean, working in his yard, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Addison.

Frank had dreams of returning to Louisburg to rebuild his beloved farm, but he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2015. Frank battled his disease to the very end and he never gave up.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening, July 14, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
