Frank Lyndell Piner, 93, of Williston, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.
A funeral service to honor Frank’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 25th at Williston Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Bob Rose. Interment will follow at Williston Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 24th at Williston Methodist Church.
Frank was born on Christmas day 1930, in Williston, North Carolina to the late Lola and Cora Piner. He was a devoted member of the Williston Methodist Church, finding peace and community in his faith. Frank was born and raised on the water, so it is no surprise that he spent his years as a commercial fisherman. He was the mastermind behind not only building his shrimp boat but also his sons as well. Frank embodied the virtue of hard work and resilience.
A true handyman at heart, he possessed a rare gift of fixing things, approaching each task with ingenuity and determination. Frank shared countless rides on his motorcycle with his beloved wife and cherished friends. He was a loving husband of over 52 years and adored his roles as father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Frank leaves behind a loving family and a community deeply touched by his presence.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter, Pollyanna Willis of Williston; son, Johnny Piner (Susan) of Williston; grandchildren, Elaina Piner Beeks (Marcus), Samuel R. Piner, Matthew Neil Willis (Desiree), Blair Huntley Willis (Kari), great-grandchildren, Brittney Phelan, Hailey Clark, Marcus Beeks Jr., Landon Barnes, Isaac Beeks, Maddox Willis, Vivian Willis, Mavrhen Willis, Nova Willis, and Bentley Piner; great-great-grandchildren, Jessica Phelan and Anna Marie Phelan.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Daniels Piner; brother, Ellsworth Piner; granddaughter, Louann Malishewsky; nephew, Randy Piner; and niece, Jeanne Morris.
