Francis "Buddy" Gordon Becton

F. Gordon "Buddy" Becton passed away on Friday, June 17th, 2016 in Greenville, NC, surrounded by his family. He was 74 years old.
Buddy was born June 23rd, 1941, in Kinston, NC to Gordon and Cora Becton. He was raised in Harlowe and graduated from Beaufort High School. He attended N.C. State University where he majored in Poultry Science. After college, he returned to Harlowe where he farmed with his father. He later became employed with the N.C. Port System at Morehead City and was employed there until his passing. Buddy was an avid sports fan, loved western movies and cooked many a mean hog!
Buddy is survived by Margaret Becton and Sandra Taylor of Harlowe, children Gordon Becton and wife Lisa of Garner, NC, Rae Nesi and husband John of Harlowe, Kay Becton Jones of Cary, NC, Ryan Contreras and wife Megan of Corvallis, Oregon, Missy Perritt of Jacksonville and Allison Ballard and husband Jason, of Havelock. Grandchildren Frank Potter, stationed in Norfolk, VA, Erin Nesi of Harlowe, Eli Jones of Cary, NC and Juliet and Tyler Ballard of Havelock. Sister Ann Mason of Harlowe, neice Kim Sipple of Bailey, NC and nephew Jess Garner of Harlowe.
Family and friends are invited to a casual memorial visitation at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, NC on Wednesday, June 22nd, from 6pm - 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made in Buddy's name to the East Carteret High School FFA Chapter (ECHS FFA), 3263 HWY 70 East, Beaufort, NC 28516.
