Frances (George) Cooper

Mrs. Frances Belle Cooper, 95, of Morehead City, went to her heavenly home Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Carteret General Hospital.

Her memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church of Morehead City with Rev. Bart Edwards officiating.

Born in Surry County, NC to Roberta and Peter George, Mrs. Cooper attended UNC, and was married to John Geiger for forty years. They had two sons together, John and Phillip. Several years after Mr. Geiger’s death, Frances met and married Scott Cooper. They lived in Pine Knoll Shores until his death.

Besides being a mother and homemaker, Mrs. Cooper was actively involved in her church and the local chapter of AA, where she recently received her 45 year chip. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her son, John Geiger and wife Sue of Hot Springs, AR; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Geiger; and a granddaughter Carolyn G. Quesinberry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1604 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
