Floyd Johnson Riggs, 78, of Newport, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Dobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Floyd was born in Craven County, and was a resident of Carteret County for 54 years. He retired as a painting contractor.
He is survived by two sons Randy J. Riggs and wife Connie of Newport, and Jeffrey S. Riggs and wife Lisa of Siler City; four grandchildren Chris Riggs and wife Meredith, Jonathan Riggs, Rebecca Riggs and Matthew Riggs; three great grandchildren Meriste, Ambrianne, and Jareth Riggs; and two sisters Isabelle Riggs of Las Vegas, NV, and Ellen Davis and husband William of New Bern, NC.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth Foster Riggs, parents William and Lyda Mae Phillips Riggs, and four siblings.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Saturday at Munden Funeral Home.
