Florence Lewis Dingess

Florence Lewis Dingess, 79, of Newport, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Her funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Broad Creek Church of God with Rev. Robbie Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Florence was a native of Eastern North Carolina. She was a loving minister’s wife who was well known and loved for her work in the Church of God Community. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Ayeni of Fuquay Varina and Crystal Shreve and husband David of Florida; brother, Jay W. Lewis and wife Pat; four grandchildren, Joshua and wife Rachel, Michelle and husband Eddie, Kevin and Jenelle; and four great-grandchildren, Christian, Josiah, Anaiya, and Isaac.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Pastor Paul Edward Dingess; parents, Earl W. Lewis and Lucille Adams Lewis; daughter, Paula Dingess, son, Samuel Dingess, and granddaughter, Ashley.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Broad Creek Church of God.
