Fannie Doris (Lewis) Gillikin

Fannie Lewis Gillikin, 83, of Harkers Island, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Pruitt Health Care.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Grace Holiness Church with Rev. Curtis Going officiating. Interment will follow at Red Hill Cemetery.

She was a member of Grace Holiness Church. She loved to crochet, cook, gardening, and shopping at Wal-Mart and Belks. She was loved by friends and neighbors, and was well known of being generous with her time and her cooking.

She is survived by her nieces, Clara Carbery of Medford Lake, NJ, Annie Gaskill of Philadelphia. PA, Effie Gillikin, Patty Taylor, April Lilly, Jodona Parker, Lee Styron all of Harkers Island, Cindy Codwell and Jeanie Fulford of Beaufort, and Margaret Lewis of Florida; nephews, Elbert Gaskill, Everett Lewis, and Danny Lewis of Harkers Island, Ronnie Lewis of New Bern, Dick Lewis and Harry Dale Lewis of Morehead City, Ivey Lewis of Morehead City, and Clinton Lewis of Beaufort; brother-in-law, Leroy Gillikin; sisters-in-law, Carita Lewis and Veta Gillikin; Godson, Joel Stinson; her beloved dog, "Flash"; friends, Connie Sparks and Deb Stinson; also many cousins, host of friends and neighbors, and her church family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William "Fred" Gillikin; her parents, Thomas and Effie Lewis; siblings, Bertie Gaskill, Clifton Lewis, Harry Lewis, Guion Lewis, Clinton Lewis, Belva Hunnings, Garrison "Buck" Lewis.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at the church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pruitt Health Care and Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay for the loving care they provided for Mrs. Fannie.
