Faith Skinner

Faith Skinner, 90, of Newport, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Carteret Health Care.

Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Munden Funeral Home. A private interment will take place at Gethsemane Memorial Park.  For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. Faith was born in Manchester, England, on June 20, 1931, to the late Harry and Vera Gregory. She moved to the United States at age 18 after meeting her husband who was serving in the United States Air Force at that time.

With a vast working career, Faith began selling magazines in New York. After moving to California, she displayed her creative ability, writing for newspapers and preforming in dramas. During this time, she also enjoyed cake decorating and sold costumes for roller skating costumes. More than anything, Faith was known for her professional roller-skating ability, competing worldwide, she excelled with her grace and natural talent in the rink.

With a keen mind and active outlook on life, Faith enjoyed her retirement years by being involved with the Moose Lodge, volunteering with the Red Cross and assisting with Hospice. With her love of rhythm and moving, she founded Dancing Granny’s which was a delight for all involved.

She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Meaney and husband Gerard of Ellsworth, ME and Karen Muehlenkamp and husband Cary of Newport; son, Keith Stinson of Hubert; special friend, James Godley of Newport; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Faith was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Skinner.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carteret Health Care Hospice Fund, P.O. Box 1619, Morehead City, NC 28557.
