Everett "JR" Lester Marion

Everett Lester Marion, Jr. (J.R.), 60, of Newport, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, Monday, August 22, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with the Rev. Bob Lowery officiating.
J.R. grew up in Pilot Mountain, NC, the son of Everett Lester Marion, Sr., and Mary Lou Marion. He was the previous owner of Broad Creek Family Restaurant for twelve years and current owner of Kountry Kitchen Restaurant, Morehead City. He was an active member of the Newport Moose Lodge 2194 and the VFW Post 8986.
Everett is survived by his loving wife of forty years, JoAnn Marion; two sons, Jonathan Marion and Jamie Marion; daughter in law, Cameron Ballou; sister, Tammy Collins and husband Kevin of Clark, NJ; brothers, Trent Marion of Pilot Mountain, NC and David McCaw of Rahway, NJ; and three granddaughters, Alley, Parker, and Emery Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Mary Lou Marion; brother, Roger McCaw; nephew, Tylor Collins; and niece, Jennifer Cox.
The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service at Munden Funeral Home.
