Eveyln Piner Willis, 87, passed away peacefully in her home in Swansboro, Monday May 30, 2016.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 3, 2016 at The Latter Day Saints Chapel located at 3606 Country Club Road, Morehead City.

Eveyln and her husband “Cobbie” Willis owned and operated Willis Oil Company, an Exxon distributorship, for many years.  After they sold their business and retired, they traveled extensively with the “Coastal Tarheels RV Club” where Cobbie served as president.  Later in her life Evelyn was active in The Red Hat Society.

Evelyn was fortunate to have been active and involved with her family and many friends throughout her life right up to the day the Lord called her home.  She was a generous, kind and true friend to all who knew her.  She will be profoundly missed.

She is survived by her two daughters, Evelyn Ruth King and husband Wilkie  and Betty Brown Dunn and husband Vance all of Morehead City; three grandchildren, Lewis Christopher Brown, Leslie Clay King and Sheila Burleson; four great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

Eveyln was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Emmitt “Cobbie” Willis; her parents, Carlton and Ora Lilly Piner; and three brothers, James E. Piner, Samuel E. Piner and Jerry T. Piner.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday June 2, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home.
