Evelyn Williams Thompson Ebbets, 96, of Morehead City, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at her home.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 2 p.m. at St. Peters United Methodist Church in Morehead City, officiated by Reverend Karl Zorowski. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Evelyn was a member of the First Christian Church in Plymouth, NC and was a longtime attendee of St. Peters United Methodist Church in Morehead City. She was also an active member of the Eastern Star of Columbia, Chapter 281. Her love of people was evident through her caring and looking after many of her loved ones. Evelyn was an active and creative person who enjoyed traveling and line-dancing.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Thompson Crowley and husband Joseph of Morehead City, Debra Thompson Lyle of Plymouth, Ginger Thompson Downs of Bloomingdale, GA; sons, Beverly Graham “Bob” Thompson and wife Pamela of Cape Carteret, Curtis Lee Thompson of Wilmington; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Greta Haye.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Phelps Williams and Fannie Myrtle Darden; first husband, Edwin Earl Thompson; second husband, Richard Borden Ebbets, Jr.; significant other, Thurston McCoy Rice; son, Charles Edwin Thompson; grandchild, Andrew Thompson.
Family will see friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at St. Peters United Methodist Church in Morehead City.
