Evelyn S. Dail "Mema", 92, of Cape Carteret, NC died Friday, May 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by family.
Family will receive visitors on Monday, May 11, 2015 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Munden Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Tuesday May 12, 2015 at 1:00 pm at The Church of God of Prophecy 5388 NC-24, Newport, NC 28570
Mema was blessed with the gift of hospitality. She never met a stranger and if you were fortunate enough to meet Mema, you probably were given one of her delicious cakes. She proudly baked them for family, friends, neighbors and local businesses in Cape Carteret, especially the Piggly Wiggly. She was dedicated to her family and was very proud of the children, grand-children and great-children
She is survived by daughters Faye Dail of Fuquay Varina,NC, Pat Williams of Fort Myers, Florida, and Iris Merkerson of Newport; sons Alonzo (Junior) Dail of Cape Carteret, and James Leary of Newport; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Alonzo W. Dail, Sr., her parents Henry and Laura Sanders, and sisters and brothers.
