Evelyn Moyers Collins

Evelyn Moyers Collins, 83, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 27th at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, officiated by Pastor Kelly Pensinger. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church, with a luncheon to follow. 

A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, August 31st at New Blackwell Baptist Church Cemetery in Rutledge, Tennessee, officiated by Rev. Josh Greene.

Evelyn was born on April 13, 1941, in Rutledge, Tennessee, to the late Clyde Moyers and Gladys Moyers of Rutledge, Tennessee. She was a member of Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church in Atlantic Beach. 

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Frank Garrett of Morristown, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Cheri Collins of Morehead City, NC; grandsons, Daniel C. Collins (Caitlyn) of Hamilton, New Zealand and Matthew J. Collins of Troy, MI; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Luther Collins, and her brother, J.P. (Jady) Moyers. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, 201 E. Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512.
