Ester "Louise" (Russell) Guthrie
March 6, 1918 — December 26, 2012
Louise Russell Guthrie, 94, passed away Wednesday December 26, 2012 at Carolina House in Morehead City.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday at White Oak Church of God with Rev. Dr. Charles E. Russell and Rev. HC Hardesty officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
She was born March 06, 1918 to Pirham and Drusilla Russell of Bogue, NC. In 1938 she married Herman K. Guthrie of Morehead City. She was a very loving wife and wonderful mother. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She loved her church and worked many happy hours volunteering there.
Louise and Herman were married for almost fifty years before Herman passed away on December 14, 1986.
She is survived by a son Russell Guthrie and wife Dorothy of Sea Gate: a daughter Lydia Garner and husband Dick of Newport: grandchildren Kristen Brown of Charlotte, Andrea Guthrie of New York City, and Richard Garner III of Charlotte: great grandchildren Raegen Brown, Lauren Brown, Ethan Garner, and Matthew Garner all of Charlotte: brother PM Russell of Bogue: sister Clarice Campbell of Bogue: and several special nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and her parents she was pre-deceased by her sisters Wilma Guthrie, Irene Guthrie, Lottie Brigman, Rebecca Potter, Elma Thompson, Geraldine Willis, and Essie Meadows, brothers Edmund Russell, and Charlie Russell, and special sister-in-law Leona Parker Russell.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
