Emma Frances "Miss Frankie" Guthrie, 83, of Harkers Island, died Friday, June 27, 2014 at Westchester Manor in High Point.
A funeral will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Free Grace Wesleyan Church on Harkers Island with Rev. Kerry Willis and Rev. Clint Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Polly Anne Cemetery.
She served the children of Harkers Island for 39 years as teacher assistant and school bus driver at the Harkers Island Schoolhouse. She also taught the little children’s Sunday School class at the Free Grace Wesleyan Church on Harkers Island for forty-two years.
She is survived by her daughter Cynthia LeRoy and husband Dan of Kernersville; one son William Michael Guthrie of Beaufort; five grandchildren, Kris LeRoy, Matthew LeRoy, Joshua LeRoy, Brandon Guthrie, and Sarah Guthrie; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Ceil Fulcher and brother-in-law Kendall Guthrie.
She was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Mamie Lewis, and husband William Bell Guthrie. She will be buried on what would have been their sixty-fifth anniversary.
