Elmer Gillikin, Jr.

Elmer Gillikin, Jr., "Papa El", 81, of Sea Level went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, June 8, 2011.

A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the home of his daughter, Debra on Golden Farm Road in Bettie. Rev. Manley Rose, Jr. and Rev. Joey Willis will officiate.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Gillikin; granddaughters, Kim Willis and husband, Joey of Bettie, Kelly Willis and husband, Lee of Marshallberg, and Katrina Chestnut and husband, Lyn of Bettie. His favorite song was "Papa Loves", which he said every time he saw his four great-grandchildren, the loves of his life, Sarah and Matthew Willis, Kailyn Chestnut, and Hailee Willis.

He was preceded in death by his step-son, John M. Hancock; parents, Louise Emory Gillikin and Elmer Gillikin, Sr., aunt, who he called "Mama", Velma Gillikin, and his daughters' mother, Golda Gillikin.
