Elizabeth "Libby" Arendell, 92, of Morehead City, died Monday, May 27, 2013 at Crystal Bluffs.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Frese officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
Libby was a member of Miriam Rebakah Lodge 141 of Beaufort, NC where she was a Noble Grand and past District Deputy President, member of Carteret Historical Society, AARP, NARFE, Lamiskie and Friends of Fort Macon, Carolina Line Dancing Club, and Democratic Committee of Morehead City. She retired after 26 years as an aircraft electrical instructor at Cherry Point, and managed Bert's Surf Shop for many years on Atlantic Beach.
She is survived by foster nieces Susan Page Salazar of Beaufort, and Patti Page Casey of Albuquerque, NM: two half brothers Ralph Hauser and family of Fort Myers, FL, and George Edward Hauser and wife Anita of Fort Myers, FL: and by numerous friends of many years.
The family thanks Joy Johnson who assisted in her care and that of her beloved kitties.
She was preceded in death by her adopted sister SueElla Herring Page, and foster brother-in-law Arthur F. Page.
The family wishes to thank the Carteret County Sheriff"s Department for their loving attention to her welfare in honor of her great grandfather, Bridges Arendell.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at First United Methodist.
