Eleanor (Wheeler) Horrell

Eleanor Wheeler Horrell, 83, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at her home surrounded by family.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Conner officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
She is survived by two sons Hugh David Horrell, Jr., and wife Georgia of Beaufort, and Howard Michael Horrell and wife Patricia of Newport; two daughters Sylvia Horrell Douthit and husband Paul of New Bern, and Peggy Ann Horrell of Newport; five grandchildren; six step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; one sister Thelma Rivenbark, of Burgaw; and special caregivers Diane and Earl Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Irene Wheeler, by her husband Hugh David Horrell, Sr., brothers Cary Wheeler, and Robert Wheeler, sisters Mildred Wells, Gertrude Lanier, Lila Tatum, and Eva Lanier.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home.
