Eldridge Franklin Gaskill

September 25, 1940 — February 8, 2015

Eldridge Franklin Gaskill, Sr., 74, of Stacy, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at his home surrounded by family.

The family will host a memorial service 2:00 pm Sunday, February 15, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Davis with Rev. Ed Renfrow officiating.

Eldridge was a member of First Baptist Church of Davis. He served his country in the US Army, and the National Guard, and was employed as a commercial fisherman, truck driver, ambulance driver, an orderly at Sea Level Hospital, and with Quality Seafood.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Eleanor Gaskill of the home; four daughters Lisha Gillikin of Beaufort, Laura Freedman and husband John of Florida, Lynda Lewis and husband Kenny, Jr. of Gloucester, and Leena Wells and husband Jeffery of Stacy; one son Frank Gaskill, Jr. and girlfriend Allison Merkley both of Atlantic; two sisters Alice Moore and husband Marvin of Morehead City, and Clara Small and husband Gene of Harlowe; fourteen grandchildren Timothy Gaskill, Jr. of Stacy, Patrick Salter of Williston, John Gaskill of Raleigh, Riley Gaskill of Atlantic, Aiden Gaskill of Atlantic, Susan Willis of Beaufort, Daniel Willis of Davis, Darin Horner of Gastonia, Kendra Lewis of Gloucester, Kendalyn Lewis of Gloucester, Dakota Willis of Stacy, Ashton Willis of Stacy, Stephen Wells of Stacy, and William Wells of Stacy; three great grandchildren Eryka Gaskill, Domanick Gaskill, and Bentley Willis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Hilda Gaskill, and three brothers Lester Salter, Will Lawrence, and Wilbert Lewis.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
