Eldred Gillikin, 71, of Beaufort, died Thursday February 2, at Carteret General Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Steve Lawrence and Elder Gene Lupton officiating. Interment will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.
He attended North River Primitive Baptist Church, and was a good Daddy and brother. He retired from Wright Dredging Co. where he worked as a tug boat Captain. He loved working and being on the water.
He is survived by his daughter Agatha Willis and husband Jerry of Morehead City, three sons Kirby B. Lawrence of Otway, Kenneth L. Lawrence of Otway, and Boris D. Lawrence and wife Dale of Otway: six grandchildren Debra Guthrie, Christy Higgs, Jana O'Neal, Kirby B. Lawrence, Jr., Michelle Lawrence, and Ellie Lawrence: five great grandchildren: two sisiters Nadine Styron and husband James of Davis, and Peggy Arnold of Farmville.
He was preceded in death by his wife Adolia L. Gillikin, brother Clyde Gillikin, infant brother Eldred Gillikin, and his parents Lola and Teanie Gillikin.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday at Munden Funeral Home.
