Edward Hillery Stroud, Jr.

Edward H. Stroud, Jr., 68, of Newport, passed away Sunday evening, December 18, 2016, with a few of his close friends nearby.

No services will be held.

Ed was originally from Kinston and relocated to Carteret County several years ago.

Ed was an avid fisherman, spending many pleasurable days enjoying his time at the Oceanana Fishing Pier. Ed was an accomplished gemologist. He was a kind and gentle soul with agood heart who cared deeply for homeless animals and spent his own time and money caring for those he could.
