Edward Smith

Edward Smith, 78, of Newport, passed away Saturday, April 6­, 2019, at the University of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel Hill.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Graham Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by Rev. Richard Mill and Rev. Bill Hooper. Interment with military honors will follow at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his daughters, Heidi Skinner and husband David of Mill Creek, Heather Brameyer  of Morehead City, and Lila-Marie Mill and husband Boone of Wake Forest: sons, Matthew Smith and wife Nina of Cameron, and Andrew Smith of Broad Creek: grandchildren Jamie Skinner, Jessica Skinner, Jeremy Skinner, Christopher Brameyer, Hannah Brameyer, Michael Smith, Corban Mill,  Harrison Mill, Kiersten Mill, Macailah Mill, and Brody Mill: five great-grandchildren: and god-daughter, Mary Sherwood.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Jane Smith; parents, Malcolm and Sarah Smith.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Graham Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church.
