Edward Andrew Duffin, 86, of Morehead City, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

The family will announce a visitation at a later date.

Edward was born and raised in Bronx, New York. He lived most of his life on Long Island and Pennsylvania and finally retired to Morehead City. He honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He owned and operated a trucking company with his son Jim.

During his time in Morehead City, he and his wife, Linda and son, Michael owned an art gallery named Gallery Arendell. One of his interests during that time was fine jewelry sold under the name Eddykristi Jewelry. Always active, Ed worked as a personal trainer well into his 80’s. His doctors and wife attribute his longevity to his passion, the treadmill. Not all of Ed’s time was spent in clean living. Ed was known to enjoy a glass of wine and a good cigar. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Duffin of the home; three daughters, Carolyn Uveges and husband John of Cherry Hill, NJ; Audrey Carrick and husband William of California, and Kristi Wronko and husband Brian of Georgia; son, Michael Forbes and wife Adrianne of Morehead City; grandchildren, Jacqueline, Lauren, Natalie, Will, and Amelia; and his Beagle, “Ethel”.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Clare Duffin; son, James “Jim” Duffin; parents, Andrew and Anna Duffin; and his Beagle, “Freddy”.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carteret County Humane Society, PO Box 357, Newport, NC 28570.
