Edmond "Bernie" Bernard Szetela

Capt. Edmond Bernard "Bernie" Szetela, 67, of Morehead City, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Craven Regional Hospital.
Born August 16,1947 in Adams, Massachusetts. He was the son of Edmund and Stacia Szetela. He attended Georgia Tech and Trinity University; graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. His passion for boating made him a world traveler. China, Japan, Dominica Republic, and the Caribbean were some of his favorite destinations. He lived up and down the eastern coast and finally dropped his anchor in NC. He served the community as a knowledgeable Marine Surveyor and was active in various community organizations. Bernie was a great and loved man.
He was preceded in death by his parents and both adult daughters.
A private memorial service will be held and we thank you for all your prayers, love, and support for our dearly departed friend.
