Edgar Ralph Bowlin, Jr., 89, of Harlowe, died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at home.
His graveside service is at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Gethsemane Memorial Park with Rev. David Price of Morehead City Church of Christ Church officiating.
He was born on December 18, 1924, to Edgar and Eva Bowlin in Statesville, NC. Edgar Ralph Bowlin, Jr. served his country during World War II as a Marine and received a Purple Heart when he was wounded in the South Pacific. He worked for 52 years for J.M. Davis Industries in Morehead City, NC. Mr. Bowlin was a member of Morehead City Church of Christ.
He is survived by one son, Edgar Ray Bowlin and wife Pam of Banner Elk; one sister, Betty Nell Maness of Statesville; and several grandchildren; Troy Edwards and wife Dora of Harlowe, Kim Daniels and husband Donnie of Thomasville, Karen Worthington and husband Max of Wellsville, MO, Kevin Bowlin and wife Kim of Banner Elk, Kenny Bowlin and wife Naomi of Raleigh. The great-grandchildren are as follows; Geoffrey Bowlin Edwards of Harlowe, Cheyenne and Allie Hubbard of Thomasville, Dustin and Amber Worthington of Wellsville, MO, Kristen and Emily Bowlin of Banner Elk.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lina Bell Bowlin and his parents, Edgar and Eva Bowlin.
The family will receive friends 7:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
