Earnest “Buddy” Leighton Baysden Jr.

Earnest “Buddy” Leighton Baysden Jr., 67, of Cape Carteret, passed away Friday, May 1­, 2020, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A private memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. David Bratton.  The family invites friends to view the webcasting of the service through Munden Funeral Home’s website. Friends are also encouraged to leave words of comfort to the family through the website.

Buddy attended Salter Path United Methodist Church. He loved the great outdoors and was an avid duck hunter. He especially enjoyed fishing with the Salter Path fishing crew and being a member of the Salter Path Men’s Club.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Baysden of the home; sons, Ryan Baysden and wife Corey of Newport, Clinton Baysden and wife Megan of Hubert and Justin Baysden and wife Heather of Cape Carteret; and grandchildren, Jayden, Callie, Cara, Kate, Holli, Carter and Saylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle Virginia Baysden and Earnest “Leighton” Baysden; and sisters, Debbie Baysden and Virginia Salter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial cards may be made to Lucy and sent to Munden Funeral Home at 2112 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC 28557.
