Earl Douglas Johnson, Jr., 64, of Rocky Mount, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Vergie Mae Cemetery officiated by Rev. Mark Bateman and Rev. Charles Tyler.
He loved music and was a skilled drummer in the band Steel Frey. He was the owner and operator of Taskmasters Log Homes and he was very skilled with his hands and a talented wood worker, and enjoyed being on the water. He was an active member of Nashville Church of God , including playing the drums for the Worship Team.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Johnson of the home; sister, Donna Brooks and husband Bentley of Harkers Island; brother, Billy Chilton and wife Amy of Straits; nephews, Jordan Lewis and wife Reba of Gloucester, Charlie Brook of Raleigh, Matthew Chilton and Kyle Chilton of Straits; and niece, Johnna Brooks of Harkers Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Douglas Johnson, Sr. and Mamie George Johnson; and sister, Gina Lewis.
