Duella Emory

Emily Duella Pollard Emory, 84, of Newport, died Saturday, October 24, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Emory a homemaker, was a member of Newport Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at Newport Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances E. Skinner of Boise, ID; two sons, Wally Emory and wife Chris of Newport and Ed Emory of Kenansville; sister, Elizabeth P. Mayhew of High Point; brother, Manly M. Pollard of Newport; four grandchildren, Della S. Osburn and husband Steve of Boise, ID, Glenn Skinner and wife Michele of Newport, Amy Parrish of Newport, and Carrie Emory of Raleigh; four great-grandchildren, Sydney, London, Emily and Kaitlin; beloved friend, Dot West of Newport; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon W. Emory, parents, Cyrus and Sadie Pollard, and brothers, G.C. Pollard, Jr. and Sam Pollard.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday at Munden Funeral Home.
