Dr. Katrina "Trina" Nannette Seitz

Dr. Katrina “Trina” Nannette Seitz, 59, of Pine Knoll Shores and formerly of Boone, N.C., passed away Saturday, April 8th, 2023, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Trina was born on February 21, 1964, in Fayetteville, N.C., to the late Robert Seitz and her mother, Elizabeth Seitz. She was an excellent student and excelled in her studies. Trina became a skilled college professor teaching at Appalachian State University. Nothing matched her love for animals. She made it her life’s work to save as many animals as she could, with a soft spot for dogs.

In her spare time, she enjoyed woodworking, designing urns for pets. She had a pure, loving heart and will be missed beyond words. A loving daughter and an advocate for all animals.

Those left to treasure her memory are her mother, Elizabeth Seitz; Cindy Kornegay, who was like an older sister; her precious dog, Eggroll Seitz; and numerous loved ones and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nannie K. Stephenson.
